A stone built retreat with panoramic, outstanding views out to sea, located within picturesque Afitos village. The stone and wooden ceilings throughout, offer traditional charm, warmth and character to the house. Sleeping 6 guests in 4 bedrooms, the house features 2 bathrooms, 2 private stone paved patios, private entrance, fully equipped kitchen, washing machine, WIFI internet, insect screens and ceiling fans. All village amenities are no more than 5-10’ walk. Afitos beach is 400m away.
The space
The traditional stone and wood decorated retreat is built on 2 levels, has 4 bedrooms and is located within Afitos village, one of the most beautiful, stone built villages in Chalkidiki.
The views out to the sea from both ground floor and 1st floor are truly outstanding, as the location of the house is high above sea level.
The house is 130sqm and sleeps up to 6 guests (plus 1 extra guest on request only).
The house features wooden ceilings throughout, which in combination with the stone elements, offer traditional ambience and unique character.
There are 2 private stone paved patios, with outdoor furniture including 2 outdoor 4-seater lounges and an outdoor 6-seater dining table. The outdoor space creates the perfect setting to relax, dine alfresco and enjoy the amazing sea views and cool breeze in the evenings.
The ground floor consists of the kitchen, living room, one bathroom and one bedroom (with single bed)
The first level comprises of three bedrooms (2 queen size beds of 160cm * 200cm and 2 single beds) and one bathroom.
The kitchen is equipped with an oven/cooktop, large refrigerator, toaster, coffee machine, electric kettle, kitchenware and crockery for meal preparation. There is a dining table which extends to a 6-seater table.
The fireplace in the living room adds further to the character and charm of the house.
The stone walls are a natural insulator, helping keep the house cool in the summer. This together with the cool breeze from the sea in the evenings, has not made the installation of air-conditioning necessary. Ceiling fans are installed in the 3 bedrooms located upstairs.
Both of the bathrooms feature a shower.
A private washing machine is available for our guests.
Free unlimited WIFI internet is available for use.
Insect screens are installed on windows and doors.
Parking is available on the street and not difficult to find.
Pets, smoking and parties are not allowed!
Guest access
A member of the team will meet and greet the guest upon arrival at the premises, hand over the keys and provide apartment specific information, such as where the hot water switch is, wifi access codes etc. We will be readily available to answer questions or provide further information and guidance to guests by phone, throughout their stay.

The Area
Afitos is a traditional, stone built village just 1 hour drive from Thessaloniki. It is perhaps the most picturesque village in Chalkidiki, as it is characterised by impressive stone buildings and cobbled alleys. It is also situated on an imposing hill several meters above sea level, offering panoramic views of the crystal blue waters of Toroneos Bay. There are many awarded restaurants, traditional tavernas, café and bars to please the visitor.
Visitors also have the opportunity to admire the unique architecture of the church of St. Demetrius which was built in 1859 and it is located in the central square, as well as mansions and the famous sculptures of Vassilis Pavlis. In the village center you will find the folklore museum which houses various art exhibitions such as tools and utensils used in the past by local residents.
The village has a long history as there is evidence of settlements from 3000 BC. Afitos, which was known as Afitios, flourished as a member of the Athenian Alliance. In 348 BC it was destroyed by King Phillip II and was reoccupied later. During the Roman Period it experienced a second major development probably due to the monument of Ammon Zeus.
On August 15th, a traditional festival takes place in the village with Greek music, dancing and food. Furthermore, throughout July and August there are various artistic events part of the Afitos Festival.
The sandy beach of Afitos is a long stretch and features several beach bars with sunbeds. All village amenities, including mini markets, bakery, pharmacy, various stores, restaurants, cafes and bars are no more than 5-10mins walk from the property.
